About me:

My journey started 2 years ago, when I walked into this new Gym in Coleraine called Core Gym, it was the talk of the town so I thought I would give it a go.  At the time I was working in a school, but have always loved training as a release from work and studies etc.  At this time I was a qualified Personal trainer but never thought these qualifications would be put to use as I thought teaching in a school was the job for me.  My friend happened to mention I was a personal trainer and was then approached by Stewart and Richard (the Big Bosses) I told them I would maybe help out and do a few classes on the side but didn’t think it was for me full time.

The more I trained and got to know the gym and people in it I felt there was something different in this gym than any other gym. It wasn’t a typical gym, staff were friendly and wanted to help and as I started to take classes and gained a few clients to personal train I got a buzz of helping others and the energy and atmosphere from classes was amazing.  It was the first time in my life I felt like work wasn’t work.  I was leaving my work in school to go to the gym and work but to me It didn’t feel like this it was more like a hobby.  When I realised this I started to take on and do more and had to rethink, maybe this was the full time job for me.

So here I am over a year later full time in Core and I have learned and developed so much. Since starting Core Gym I have furthered my studies by completing a sports massage course as it was always an interest of mine and has been a great addition to the offering to our clients.

I have a busy work schedule now with personal training, classes, bootcamps and massage and have a great relationship with my clients and work colleagues.

The success stories through the hard work and dedication of our clients and not forgetting wee Oliver has been more than job satisfaction to me its been a pleasure and I am excited to see what the future holds  for Core we settle in to our new facility, every day I see our ‘family’ growing and developing.
